Category 2 Winter & Low Sun Sunglasses
Ideal for driving, winter sports and general everyday use, Rapid Eyewear's Nimbus Solo 2's feature a Category 2 brown tinted lens that allows for a higher translucence level than standard (Category 3) sunglasses. By removing less of the visible spectrum (blue light) than standard sunglasses, Nimbus Solo 2's give you full UV400 protection and better definition of objects in your field of view when the light is fairly bright, but not full sunshine.
Note: Category 2 sunglasses are recommended by the AA for driving in all conditions - even full sun. This is because the tint contained in a car windscreen in itself reduces visible light, even before you add a pair of sunglasses to the equation. Thus for driving purposes, Category 2 sunglasses are ideal even on a bright summer's day.
The Frame
Made from an extremely rugged TR90 plastic composite the Nimbus frame is lightweight, comfortable and highly practical. Rubber nose pads and side arm extensions add to comfort levels, whilst sprung side arms reduce 'slop' around the temples. The wrap-around styling helps to block light from the peripheries of your vision. Finished in an attractive matt-black colour.
The Lenses
The beige polarised lenses feature an anti-scratch coating, and a high level of impact resistance. Interchangeable category 0, 3 & 4 lenses are available for purchase that will fit this product (not on Amazon).
Uses
Nimbus Solo 2's are ideal for driving, sports (playing and watching) and everyday use. They are especially useful for watching winter sports such as football and rugby, in typical 'hazy sun' conditions.
