The LA TRANSICIÓN series premiered on La 2 de TVE on Sunday, July 23, 1995 and ended its broadcast on October 15 after six years of development and another two years of rest. Its programming seemed to fill a gap of the summer stage not conducive for multitudinal premieres. However, since the first program reached one of the highest ratings of the television network and its subsequent commercialization in VHS format was another success unimaginable for a documentary series. Victoria Prego and Elías Andrés had access to images from various public and private archives: Filmoteca Española, RTVE, Radio Nacional de España, No-Do, Euskal Telebista, TV3, Catalan Cinema Institute, Euskadiko Filmategia, BBC, ZDF, RAI, ARD, ITN, Institut National Audivisuel, Visnews, Largo Caballero Foundation, Pablo Iglesias Foundation, Walter Aubrich, Miguel Wermehren, Peter Schuman ... Hence the variety in the qualities of the included images. THE WAY OF FREEDOM. It commemorates the 30 years of Spanish democracy. This is the first great work that collects the images of the three decades following THE TRANSITION. Throughout 31 chapters, there is an exhaustive account of the errors and successes of the three decades since the adoption of the Constitution in 1978. Witnesses to the major events that have taken place in our country in recent decades, Journalists Prego and Andrés have done an exhaustive work of tracing in the rich archives of Spanish Television, in documental funds of numerous means of communication and in private archives to clarify and organize in the best way possible those three decades. More than 5000 hours have been necessary to watch two million meters of video tapes
