Mrs Crimble's Dutch Apple Cake 475g

This cake is naturally low in fat and contains lots of real fruit with apple flavour and cinnamon to give it a unique taste and a lovely moist texture. This cake is great on it’s own but it’s also scrummy with a dollop of clotted cream or some custard. We have also found on our travels to the West Country that this cake goes particularly well with a glass of traditional cider!As the cake has a very low fat and moisture content it freezes really well. Whilst this cake is wheat free it is not gluten-free as it is made with rye flour which whilst very low in gluten when compared to normal wheat flour is above the levels permitted by the Coeliacs society.
