Steps of operations:
1. Open plate by daylight, and then place 2-3 drops of distilled water on the main prism. Close the light plate and gently press the tag so that the water spreads over the entire surface of the prism without air bubbles or dry spots. Wait for 30 seconds to ensure the test comes to room temperature.
2. By holding the plate in the direction of a light source in daylight and looking through the eyepiece, you will see a circular area with gradations in the centre. You can have to concentrate the eyepiece to clearly see the gradations. The upper part of the field should be blue, while the bottom part must be white. Take the reading where the blue and white cross the scale.
3. Clean the device with a soft, damp cloth after measuring and keep dry afterward.
Note:
Have irradiation working conditions or immerse the device in water with moisture.
Do not attempt to measure abrasive or corrosive chemicals with this instrument. You can damage the lens coating.
