Probably the most secure way to store a cryptocurrency is in a wallet (crypto purse) with a public and private key.
The public key is required in order to receive coins, and the private key is required to make payments.
The most secure type of wallet is a paper card wallet (PVC plastic card) which contains both keys - the public key and the private key.
