Each pair of glasses in this set has lenses with the same polarized filters. Compared to a pair of regular polarized 3D glasses, one of the pairs has two left eye lenses and the other pair has two right eye lenses attached. The result is that each viewer can see his/her own picture on the full screen in 2D. This technique is used by LG called "Dual Play" and by Philips called "Full Screen Gaming" for 2 Player fullscreen gaming experiences. The two split screen pictures are detected by the TV and scaled to the full size of the screen. Then they are screened with two different polarizations, one for each pair of glasses. This not only gives you the possibility to have your split screen scaled up, but also hides the picture of the other player resulting in a new gaming experience.

To use these glasses you need a TV by LG with "Dual Play" or a TV by Philips with "Full Screen Gaming" (in the passive version, no battery-powered Shutterglasses TVs are compatible) and a gaming console with a split screen game.

Please note that many games are not designed for this technique resulting in squeezed or warp of the picture. These distortions cannot be eliminated by the glasses.

If these glasses are used for watching a 3D movie (on a passive polarized 3D TV) the result is a conversion of 3D to 2D. Both eyes see the same picture and the 3D effect is eliminated. This might be handy if you want to watch a movie in 2D and the rest of the audience is watching in 3D.
