Benzalkonium chloride (BAC 50) is a quaternary ammonium-based antiseptic and disinfectant. It is a bactericidal and fungicidal agent that helps to reduce the growth of organisms in multidose containers and it is similar to other cationic surfactants.
APPLICATIONS: It can be used in formulations of mild cleaners, in fungicidal products to kill fungus, mould and algae, as a preservative in cosmetics, as a broad spectrum disinfectant, as phase transfer agent and as microbe corrosion inhibition in the oil industry.
