AT-AT stands for all terrain armoured transport. The imposing Walker is made by the Imperial Ministry of defence. This 60 km/H armoured vehicle is used for ground assaults, including attacking the Rebel base on the ice Planet Hoth. Its heavy armour makes it almost impossible for conventional weapons to damage an AT-AT. Their unstoppable lumbering approach has fatal consequences for soldiers, as its feet can squash heavy material without difficulty. The psychological effect alone is often sufficient to decide the outcome of the battle.
Originally designed as a troop transport, the AT-AT is also used extensively as a combat vehicle.
